Charles Chodkowski
My motorhome is parked up for the next two months, should I connect it up to the mains to keep the batteries charged or will this cause any problems?
Philman
It's usually wise to have a small heater in the van if you are connected. Have it on its low or frost setting and it will help to stop it getting damp or freezing if it gets really cold overnight. I use an oil filled radiator 600W. As regards charging I usually switch the charger on for each battery once a week or so to keep it topped up. If your charger goes to 'maintenance' once the battery is charged then it should be ok to leave it on for extended periods if you can't get to the van to switch it on and off periodically. Phil.
