Being new to the forum ( and wet behind the ears ), can anyone tell me please why the date in the Last Posts is a day in front?

All answers so far show as posted 2 Jan. Must be something wrong my end although computer date and time correct.

Certainly a time warp. Just checked on the other computer everything ok there, date and time. This computer one day , one hour and 10 mins fast. Time and date on control panel correct, so any computer buffs out there can solve the problem. Having difficulty knowing whats happening now let alone 24 hours hence!

Is it an Australian computer ?? :-)

Seriously - maybe your computer is set up for the wrong time zone ?

Have a look in your ' Control Panel' and check the region.

Time zone set for GMT.

Sorry can't suggest anything else.

(Let's just hope it can give you 'tomorrows' horse racing results !)

When the computer starts up you will see a message, usually in the bottom left of the screen, which tells you which key to press to enter setup. It's only on for a second or two so you have to watch carefully. It is often either Press Delete or Press F2, you have to press the key before Windows (or the Operating system if not Windows) starts to load.

The time and date settings will be on the first page. Check your User Manual for full details of how to use Setup. Make sure you save changes before you exit and restart the computer.

Phil, thanks for your help. Have to find out how to disable my password before I can try your advice. Much hair pulling has taken place since my last post.

Hi, you enter bios setup before password. You only need to enter a password to get into setup if someone has previously set it. If you are the first owner of the computer and you haven't set it then you should be able to enter the setup without a password. It happens in the first couple of seconds from switching on, look very carefully for the message before the computer boots up.

If you're not sure how to do it ask a friend who might know. This may not be what is causing your problem but you seem to have already checked the more obvious things.

Thanks Phil. Found f2 setup. Will try again today.

Yes Sparkle I can predict - have been told quite often that I'm psychiatric

Phil. Followed your excellent instructions to the letter. BIOS settings correct. Dates for other uses correct ie. Ebay etc. So, haven't got a clue. Will lay this problem to rest and use the other computer for posts. Many thanks.

Have you looked at your date setting in the Control Panel on this forum?

It is possible to set it to say whatever you want!

Well done J9 !!

Is it o.k. for us all to ask you about our computer problems from now on ??? ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
