Randonneur
I believe that the ferry prices from Barcelona to Majorca are very expensive. A friend of ours went across with a Mercedes Sprinter Van and couldn't believe the price, luckily he wasn't paying for it.
crinklystarfish
Hi,We 'did' Mallorca last summer.Arta is a big and unpleasant town and I wouldn't want to camp there. There are many wild-camping oportunities but there is nothing in the way of services. Mallorca is NOT set up to accomodate motorcaravans. That said we loved it. We do though wildcamp nearly all of the time and were in our element.Mallorca is beautiful and worth a visit - but don't go if you aren't prepared for an adventure. Ferry prices are comparable to trans-north sea crossings and you can sail from Barcelona easily. We used 'Balearea' but there are about four companies that sail daily with competitive prices. We hardly saw any other motorhomers and consider the Balearics one of the few places in western Europe that you can still go where you feel like you are forging new ground.Good luck.
