Poppy
Friday afternoon to Stanmore Hall caravan site Bridgenorth Shropshire. They carried over our deposit from the previous weekend because of the very bad weather. Lovely site with very helpful little maps where local bus stop,AND bus timetable are plus local supermarkets and country park. Caught bus to Bridgenorth Saturday, weather glorious and made most of pubs including lovely roast pork sandwhiches. Went to war memorial as an old flame of my mothers is on it and she has never seen it so we took loads of pics.Bought (look away health police) some gorgeous pork scratchings from excellent local butchers in High street and then on to St.Leonards church for more pics. W.J.Lowe stoker was a choir boy there. This proved to be an unexpected pleasure as the church is a little gem as is the close that surrounds it.Saw several photos of goups of choir boys from the 30s so more pics in the hope that my mother can recognize some of them.Next day en rout for home stopped in mid wales to meet a group of friends for lunch. Perfect.
Dave Newell
Good show Poppy, glad you enjoyed Bridgnorth (no "E" in it :-D ). I'm guessing that the butchers was Beamans, they do some really, REALLY good home cured smoked bacon in there too! (lol) D.
