Knaus
HI Has anyone stayed at the Comanges Campsite in Argeles sur Mer? Would like to hear from you.
Guest JudgeMental
No knowledge of particular campsite , but we stayed here for a few days on our way back from Spain a few years ago. we stayed on one of the many sites heading south out of town. To be honest not my idea of a holiday destination. Very Brash and popular & probably most overcrowded part of the Mediterranean that we have ever visited in high season. Michele returns to a site a little further north near Beziers - valras plage? in the Michlin guide no site in that area gets more then 2 tents/star? and Comanges gets a one tent (quite comfortable) rating. Minstrel
I haven't any knowledge of campsites in the Languedoc Rousillon area, but Argeles looks to me to be rather brash and commercialised. Canet Plage also. We've spent lots of holidays in the area but this year is the first with the motorhome. Torreilles Plage has lots of campsites but is quieter, Serignan Plage also maainly campsites. Both of these have lovely beaches but take your windbreak or a little tent on to the beach, it can be very windy at times. I can very much recommend a trip on the little yellow train. This runs from Villefranche le conflent up into the Pyrenees, and has open carriages to travel in/ We've also done the route by car, lovely views that way as well. All in all I recommend the area - not too many mosquitos either.
