KD Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 anybody got any, the forums getting fewer and fewer posts. i thought about maybe all having our own thread, like a blog where we can post each day or week or whenever what we have been up to or where we are or going, what do you think or as anybody any other suggestions before the forum fades away completely
davenewellhome Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 This is purely my own humble opinion (you do believe I do humble don't you? :-) ) but I think the forum is fine as it is. It is a natural occurrence for forum postings to wax and wane in my experience. I think the idea of a personal thread for each member is slightly ridiculous as there are thousands of registered members. If you want to start a thread where you can post a "blog" type of regular report then go ahead but how long do you think it will last? Both myself and Bruce have threads devoted (poor choice of word I know but I've had a couple of pints :-) ) to our respective selves and they come and go. D.
KD Posted March 6, 2008 Author Posted March 6, 2008 just a thought but of the 1000s listed i dare say only 15 or so post regular enjoy your pint dave
Hymer C 9. Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Hi Dean, I see your point the forum can go quiet from time to time and yes we do seem to have a core of posters with others putting thier input in when they have a interest in the topic, other's of us like to keep up with each other and that keeps chatterbox going, like Dave I think it works ok as it is, but I see no harm with posting our threads like Bruces and Daves that way you say so lets give it a go. I'll start one for you, it seems a good idea to be have one to pop questions on direct or tell each other bits and bobs we think of interest. Carol.
KD Posted March 6, 2008 Author Posted March 6, 2008 lets wait and see what the rest think over the next few days
Guest Tracker Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Once every year something very strange occurs. I can feel it in me bones as it approaches. Yes - it has arrived. I find myself agreeing with Dave's comment! The one about cyclical highs and lows for forum input. Isn't it strange how everyone claims to not want aggro and confrontation and yet the participation seems to increase dramatically when confrontation or politically incorrect subjects are in vogue!
michele Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 yeah time for a good bloody row me thinks ...........you're all bloody stupid
Guest Tracker Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 michele - 2008-03-06 8:51 PM yeah time for a good bloody row me thinks ...........you're all bloody stupid Bloody hell Michele - that's a bit strong - especially coming from you! I know I can be stupid - the real problem is with them what have their heads so far up their bums they can't see themselves as just as stupid as wot I am! If you bury your head in the sand - you leaves yer bum very exposed!
John H Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 michele - 2008-03-06 8:51 PM yeah time for a good bloody row me thinks ...........you're all bloody stupid Is this the 10 minute argument or the full half hour? *-)

howie Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Oh yes you will (if your'e lucky). Instead of fannying about messing up our motorways Spud, why don,t you do something usefull for a change and tell us how your team started life known as the 'Black Arabs'. 8-)
howie Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Don,t think so Ria. Finest breed of horse you can get, but thought they came in all colours. (horse colours that is).
howie Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Not often I do this Ria, but seeing as I like you i,m willing to sell you a part share in my own racehorse. Interested? X
ohgrandma Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Howie, what a very kind offer and yes I am interested, We are surrounded by horses here, and i love them.Cant think why you like me though? to make an offer like that. I am just wondering if I have enough Coins under the bed to pay you though? Thanks for info on " Black Arabs" I being naive didn,t know for sure. Does that mean then, that Bristol Rovers will be horsing around on Sunday????? Ria. ooh you are naughty but i like you too. ;-)
Guest Tracker Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Is the horse friendly enough to be your chum Howie? Before anyone pays any money out - does it have a pedigree? Is it called Pedigree Chum because that is where it will end up at the end of the racing season!
KD Posted March 7, 2008 Author Posted March 7, 2008 5 posts thats all it took before this thread drifted so far off topic it beggars belief
J9withdogs Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 howie - 2008-03-07 11:30 AM Oh yes you will (if your'e lucky). Instead of fannying about messing up our motorways Spud, why don,t you do something usefull for a change and tell us how your team started life known as the 'Black Arabs'. 8-) Pretty boring really (yawn) The club was formed in September 1883, following a meeting in the Eastville Restaurant in Queen's Parade, Stapleton Road, Bristol, organised by a 19-year-old schoolteacher called Bill Somerton. They later took the name Black Arabs F.C., so called because of their predominantly black kit and the fact that they played on an adjoining pitch to the Arabs rugby team, at Purdown.
ohgrandma Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Rich, Many thanks for reminding me about the Pedigree, now i am wondering about the temperament of the horse, I couldn,t handle a stroppy one, Dont worry, It will not end up as Pedigree Chum. got a lovely field out the back here.for it to enjoy it,s old age in. Ria.
Guest Tracker Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 So just where do dead horses go then! Is it landfill, is there a horse crematorium, or a horse cemetery and what would a horse grave digger be called (apart from JCB!). Would the hearse be horse drawn - or is Tony's new van big enough! There must be some ideas here to help promote an interesting forum!
Tomo3090 Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Don't know where they go but I have heard of people flogging them! So what price can you get for one and are they cheaper on e-bay?
