Guest Tracker
Has anyone found out what these are in full yet, both for new and for existing vehicles, as VED (Car tax, Road Tax or Road Fund License as it laughingly used to be known) may well affect any decisions some of us might have about changing cars or vans in the next few months? Guest Tracker
I found the car rates and as long as you keep under the 170 gm co2 per km they are not too bad considering the overall madness and greed of the Jock Badger and his Highway Robbers. But I still can't find the PLG VED rates and have as yet not sorted out the difference between the various classes that affect us motorhomers i.e. under 3500kg, over 3500kg and EuroV? Can anybody shed any light please?
pagey
rich the rates for up to 3500k are on the dvla site both pre 03/2001 and 2003 on but i cant see any for over 3500k
Guest Tracker
The rates for PLG TC10 which is up to 3500kg is now £185 (was £180 last year) but confusingly the DVLA website refers to this as PLG TC11 which is the over 3500kg group but does not give a separate figure? Does anyone have a van over 3500kg and if so what are you paying for your VED please? If you are lucky enough to have a Euro4 compliant base vehicle (are there any?) first registered between 1.3.03 and 31.12.06 your VED will only be £120 - so go check your V5 now just in case! They all seem to be set to go up by a fiver a year next year, as far as I can tell, so they must be regarded as more environmentally friendly than many large engined cars. Have we actually got away with something officially for a change?
KD
its an absolute load of labour bullsh1t as if anyone who drives a 30/40/50 grand 4 wheel drive or motorhome cant afford the extra cash for the tax. its got nothing to do with saving the planet just another excuse to get more money off us. same with booze is a binge drinker going to cut down drinking because a pint as gone up again, no just another way of sounding caring but in fact just trying to empty our pockets
