MandyAndy
Hi, We have been looking and checked out Maplins but just all too expensive for a one off trip. Could be worth it soon as my ex and his wife are getting a van and we are all hoping to get away together so they could be handy for those trips too. Better get a move on, we leave on the 4th as that is when the childrens Easter is this year as we all know. Thanks for reminding me , Mandy

dogmad
We're off to Sunny Lyn site at Lynton, North Devon for 5 days with our 3 dogs, hope the site's nice, haven't been there before. Can't wait as we haven't taken the van out since beginning of Feb. Hoping to just park the van and not drive anywhere for the whole time - just relaxing, walking and reading. Let's hope the weather picks up though, it's absolutely pouring with rain here as it has done the last few weekends - that's why we haven't been anywhere. davenewellhome
We were hoping to go away to Poston Mill near Hereford but they're fully booked (dopey bugger left it too late, didn't I?) but as we're both working on Friday till late afternoon and Catering Manager is back in on Easter Monday we can only do one night! Then I heard that the forecast is for snow and frost so we're now wondering whether to bother :-( . Might just check out some of the local CC CLs instead, as long as there's a decent food pub within walking distance we'll be fine :-D, open to suggestions in Shropshire :D . D. davenewellhome
We've now had a change of plan and Good Friday evening we're staying on the car park of the White Horse so we can enjoy the hostility of the evening (live entertainment :-D ). Then on Saturday we're hoping to go to Weston Park for the Festival of Transport 'cos we haven't been there for years. Got to check with Caravan Club and see if they've got a rally going on there *-) . D.
Tony Jones
After our exciting first night away in the new van (see my thread on MH Matters" forum), we've scoured the diary and realised we can get another overnight - on Easter Sunday night, giving us a "proper" Easter Monday out. So I'm just off to look through the MCC book etc to decide on a place in reach with something interesting to do on the Monday. The idea is that that this time we'll do all the things right that we did wrong on Friday (no, Mel, not THAT). Then we should be FULLY prepared for our "great Escape" to SW France and NE Spain! donna miller
Just a thought, a little off topic (kind of) but I was surfing through ebay a couple of weeks ago and a guy had an advert for a sheet of A4 paper, advising people NOT to get their postcode in large letters on the van roof. This was to stop any undesirables seeing it from a bridge and hoofing their way round to your street. It is so easy to knock a couple of doors and say you are supposed to be viewing a van but appear to have the wrong house number, a lot of neighbours would point them to your house unwittingly. Said scrote could then, knowing you are off up the A1, have a field day with your possessions. Anyway, to get to my original point, there may be said undesirables browsing these forums, so perhaps not such a good idea to advertise you are away. Just my opinion, and don't mean to to put a dampener on this thread, but would hate anyone to fall foul. IYKWIM.

Point taken, but as far as I can remember, the only "location" info anyone ever gives is an area or town. I'm probably one of the more easily traceable, given things I've posted and written in my profile, but even to find me they'd have to do a fair bit of digging first. Would they bother? IYKWIM.
