Thanks - Rapidovan man. B-)

Camping Bled is a busy site but we quite liked it and situation by lake.(Slovenia)

We also stopped at a hotel that had a spa and camping at Landava near border with Hungary. What we like was that once in the camp site area it was free to use the thermal pools as much as we liked whilst open. there were quite a few thermal pools.

Hi Rapidovanman

We too are heading for this part of the world or he first time, going via Bruges, Luxembourg, Salzburg and then into Slovenia and Croatia.

I have a number of sites in mind but we prefer to 'go with the flow' .

We do intend to try Bled and Ljubjlana Resort while in Slovenia as these both take camping cheques, but have not planned anything for Croatia.

We shal be using the CC Europe 2 guide and ACSI, the latter have many sites in Croatia.

The ACSI 2008 sites DVD contains quite a good selection of sites in Eastern Europe, including Slovenia and Croatia.  Obtainable from Vicarious Books, along with the ACSI sites guide which lists the sites offering 10, 12 and 14 Euro flat rate off season pitches with electricity.  Otherwise, (or also) get the Caravan Club's Caravan Europe 2 guide which includes a number of sites in both countries (and, as with the ACSI guides, a lot of other countries).

Hi,

We stayed at the three sites in Slovenia listed in the ACSI guide and they were quiet in May/June 2005. We also stayed at a couple of spa type sites which were busier.

If you are going soon there may not be many sites open so early in the season.

We liked Slovenia and but can't help with sites in Croatia. I believe some are very large.

Enjoy your trip

Steve

We're thinking of heading down that way later this year, but keep an eye on the Kosovo situation as this seems to be slowly dragging the surrounding countries into the arguments. Check the F.O. travel site before you go, or even before you cross any borders as the situation can changes in the time it takes to drive there.

I'm not trying to put you off, just be thoughtful of what's going on there.

Hi Rapidovan man we are off this Tuesday how soon is soon are u off,cos if u contact "info@cnto.freeserve.co.uk" phone 02085637979 and ask for a map of Croatia and a camping book they will send you a pack. You can find all sorts of goodies on www.croatia.hr and www.camping.hr great for camp sites. We have had our pack from them which is ok but I downloaded a lot more stuff from the webbs. even a list of camp sites with map co-ordinates and even a list of autogas filling stations as we have Gaslow bottles (do not know why everybody has'nt got them).

We also have a Rapido it has the dragon on the back so no prizes where we are from and just to rub it in also the GRAND SLAM logo, what is this logo I here u ask it is a smile from ear to ear.

What happens does an itch go when you scratch it.

Curly, a much deserved "grand Slam" victory logo too. They played with style and skill and it was good to see Wales playing with something like their old pride and commitment. What you will do when Edwards is the England Coach next season I don't know, but well done for now boyo! :-D

Hi Tomo you have not heard Edwards' latest interview he is committed to Wales until 2011 and any way have you heard the latest chant "Edwards is a Welsh name, Edwards is a Welsh name" and it is not only the coach, you have to have the players.

Where does an itch go after you have scratched it.

Curly.
