mark talbot
Returning from a trip I have scuffed the side of my Rapido against the garden wall (I'm gutted). The damage is a deep scuff mark horizontally for about 6 inches. As the sides are not painted but a resin type material can anyone suggest a good repairer who could fill the damage a return the van to its former glory. I live in the midlands but am prepared to travel obviously.
davenewellhome
Hi Mark, try Cannock Resprays. They have a branch in Cannock and another in Walsall I beleive. Ian is the big man, really big at about six foot thirteen I think but he's a real gent and a motorhome owner and user to boot. They do the lot from repairing a scratch to a complete body rebuild and can fabricate entire wall panels to original manufacturers spec regardless of the country of origin of your 'van. D. Brian Kirby
Also, you may get some assistance form these people. http://tinyurl.com/2qqgva They used to be called Caravannes Rapido, and have a long-standing association with the French factory. For what it is worth, they are not Brownhill's!Others have spoken very highly of the service they give, and you will probably need advice on the colour code for the Rapido white, possible on the re-supply of transfers etc. If they are as good as others have said, they will be well worth speaking to. Derek Uzzell
I echo Brian's advice. 'Invisible' repairs to GRP body panels need considerable expertise. I remember asking the owner of Wokingham Motor Homes (UK) how they managed to do it on Rapidos given that these have such a high standard of eternal finish. He told me that he didn't know the technical details, as any vehicle needing bodywork rectification was placed in the hands of a local specialist and, when the motorhome was returned to them, all traces of damage had magically disappeared. Basil
As it is only a small 'scuff' could you not find a suitable sized 'componant' i.e. vent or such like to stick over it with one of the propriatory glue/ sealants? Bas
