John H
tab1 - 2008-03-23 6:36 PM Does anyone take their motor home to any good fishing lakes with allows easy access to the lake I've been to a few sites in France with their own fishing pools but never in the UK. If you go on to this website, there is an advanced search facility which lets you search for sites where fishing is available. http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/ John
J9withdogs
Hi Terry & welcome to the forum! A friend of mine has been to Kingsbury Water Park & thinks it's really good. Anyway to the original posters question, let us know what type of fishing you are interested in and I might be able to come up with some suggestions. (Edit) Sorry just noticed your avatar and it's pretty obvious you're a Carp hunter. Not my type of fishing so can't help I'm afraid. Now...if it had been Fly fishing... :D

Hymer C 9.
Hi Terry and welcome to the forum, yes we go to one excellent fishing lake once a year it is in Bourton-on-the-Water in the Cotswold's, it is called Carp Farm, the owners name is Terry, he can be quite particular about who stays on his site sometimes you can drop me a pm if you want and I will give you a name to say who recommended it. He does not take children because of the obvious danger he has 4 or 5 fishing lakes. It is a beautiful quiet site but only a ten minute walk into the centre of Bourton-on-the-Water itself a lovely though busy place. We also stayed at Woodland Waters in Linconshire they have a very good web site. with many fishing lakes. Hope this helps. Carol.

Guest Tracker
As a fisherman myself I tend to agree with Dean - there are times when watching grass grow can be more rewarding! The caravan club used to list CL's with fishing adjacent or nearby but as I am not a member I don't know if they still do? If they do it might simply be a case of 'trawling' through all the entries to find the ones that interest you! Tight Lines.
Thai Bry
tab1 - 2008-03-23 6:36 PM Does anyone take their motor home to any good fishing lakes with allows easy access to the lake Hi Terry & welcome.Just got back from a long week-end in Taunton.I did a bit of fishing on a couple of lakes in the area. The rivers were a bit swollen to go wading in.I've been to a few lakes & rivers, but as you can see from my profile I'm an avid "Fly fisherman", so don't tend to use the sites that have been reccommended.Sorry I can't be of more help than this.Good luck & enjoy.Thai

flicka
Hi Terry I had some great fishing last summer on various sites with fishing lakes. Most memorable was Docklow Pools near Leominster (only takes around 10 M/Hs or C/vans) 5 different lakes with specimen Carp in some. bar & Restaurant on site M/H 20yards from nearest lake. Most memorable because we had to evacuate quick due to the floods.

Vic
As has been said, the Caravan Club does give details of sites where fishing is available. One of the best I've seen is Whiteacres in Cornwall. Three good lakes offering decent carp (not massive) but a good day's sport. If the grass grows, you'll be asked to move on by the groundskeeper while he mows it :-> If you plan to travel abroad, you need to be aware of the various rule and regs. In many European countries, you will need to buy a local licence from the town/village council. I know from experience that in Germany, you will need to have sponsors to show that you are a right and proper person to hold such a licence. I didn't like fishing in Germany because you were expected to kill anything caught, and bins were provided around the fishing areas for you to deposit your catch. Seemingly, the dead fish were sent to zoos etc. In Holland, you can put your catch back into the water and they expect decent treatment of the fish. For many years, Holland has demanded barbless hooks, far longer than this country. Also, you may often find in Europe that there are no bailiffs on fishing areas. These places are visited by the local police and God help you if you don't have a valid licence. They will confiscate your kit and issue an 'on the spot' fine. Not a bad thing in my opinion. Anyway, tight lines, and I hope you find the right place.
