I wonder if anyone could recommend a good site with good facilities nearby. Is it still relatively safe to stop on the Dover promenade overnight? Thanks in advance. You actually use it for parking for thr day, but can stay as long as you want, e.g overnight and they have full facilities. Jon. p.s. We usually use the Folkstone Caravaning and Camping campsite as it is more relaxing than wild camping in Dover. It is a lovely spot and nice walks by the cliffs. ROND Posted March 24, 2008 Share Posted March 24, 2008 Parking at Marine Parade Dover is safe but not comfortable, the incline on the road and traffic noise make for a restless night. The police tend to patrol it quite often. We find it much more relaxing to stop at Canterbury in the park and ride which has a spcial section for motorhomes, £2 for 24 hours and that includes the free use of th4e bus into town.
