Hi all...new to forum,

Looking at this van,can any of you give advice as to yes or no.

Experienced M/Homer but would like the girls and boys on here to have your say.

And yes its at Brownhills,oh dear.

My other option to buy is an Autotrail Cheyenne 632se 2004 on a Merc 2.7 with auto box.

Good info and chat on here, awaiting some amusement.

Phil.

You didn,t say if it was a two or four berth 530 Freestyle.

Had a 2005 530 two berth from new for eighteen months. Our first MH. Loved it at first but with retirement approaching we decided it was great for weekends and short breaks but too small for long trips.

Plus side.

Economical 30mpg.

Good storage. Better than the newer model without the over cab storage.

Swivel seats.

Rear kitchen.

Attractive comfortable upholstery.

Down side.

High off the ground. Two steps to get in.

2.0 ltr engine cruised nicely on the open road but lost it sometimes embarressingly on steep hills and long inclines.

Low payload. We travelled fairly light so didn't find it a problem.

A bit cramped with the tansverse bed made up.

We now have a 2.8 2006 Autocruise Stardream with U shaped rear lounge. Two full length single berths or six foot six wide double. Acres of lounging space and seperate shower.

With hindsight we wish we had gone for a larger MH from the start. Financially it would have stretched us but its a lot of cash lost trading in so soon.

I think the Autotrail would be a far better investment and would hold its value far more than a Freestyle. The Freestyle was made by Swift for Lowdham Leisure.

Mike.

The Auto Trail cheyenne 632 on a Merc will be a good motorhome. Generally a better made motorhome than the Freestyle.

But maybe a little small if touring for long periods of time. The lounge seats are a little small compared to our 660. If the length of the motorhome is an issue and you do not mind small seats in the lounge then the 632 is a good motorhome.
