Lost Window

Recommended Posts

Until recently, we were the proud owners of a Compass Castaway RG (year 55) motorhome. However, in an effort to improve our carbon footprint and reduce our diesel consumption, we decided to downsize our van to something smaller and yesterday undertook the short distance of 70 miles to complete the part exchange. However, after parking up at the dealership we noticed that the window and frame in the motorhome door had completely gone! It appears to have only been glued on and there was no trace of it (we scanned the kerbside on the return journey). We were quite shocked at how easily this came off, especially after driving thousands of miles previously. Unfortunately, the dealership will be charging us to replace this but as yet we don't know the cost. Thankfully they have agreed not to charge us labour too. Does anyone know what this cost is likely to be approximately or has anyone else experienced the same incident? :-(

Hi Wilson

Sorry to hear of your problem re losing the door window. If you search for a post "Flying Window" I experienced the same problem on our Compass Calypso 210 (56 reg). This happened when the motorhome was less than one year old. As the motorhome was still under warranty it was replaced free of charge by our dealer, the replacement window took over 2 months to be supplied and fitted.

Hope you have better luck with your new motorhome.

Regards

Derek
