I am going to sell my Autosleeper Harmony High top motorhome and Have been trying to establish the market value. I have searched for sale adverts for private sales and there are very few. I therefore paid for prices per a well known Motor trade guide and then did more online research. I think this may be of some help to other forumites embarking on a change of motorhome.

1. Value for Private Sales per Motor Trade monthly guide March 2008 based on

No extras, good condition, standard annual mileage of 5000pa

Harmony No distinction between petrol and diesel ???

96 N £11800

97P £12300

98R £12900

97P Symphony £12900

2. Dealer adverts 11 March . Auto trader

Harmony

94 Diesel 4 berth 32000miles £13995

Diesel 2 berth 32500miles £14995

95 Petrol 34000miles £14995

96 “” 43000miles £15450

Diesel 2 berth ?? £13995

97P Petrol 49650 £15995

98 Diesel 40000 £16595

There is some consistency here as dealer prices are approxx £3700 higher than Private sale prices. Actual selling prices achieved for both groups will of course depend upon negotiations, extras etc.

3 Dealer adverts MMM

98 Duetto Diesel 2 berth £14999

? Harmony petrol 2 berth52936miles £14450

4 Private adverts Trader Magazine

96 Duetto Diesel 36000 £14500

96 “” Petrol 23000 £10750

97 “” Diesel 36000 £15500

98 Transit Flair Petrol 42000 £11990

98 Symbol Petrol 61000 £14750

2000 Rambler Petrol 17000 £13000

There seem to be more of these types on the market and prices vary a lot probably due to owner perceptions of value versus dealer prices. I also note that average mileages of these diesel vans are not higher than those of petrol versions.

5. Private ads MMM

95 Duetto Diesel + extras 68000 £11440

96 “” “” “” 71000 £12500

97 “” “” “” 88000 £13950

97 “” “” “” ?? £13995

99 Rambler “” “” 48000 £14500

These vehicles do have higher than average mileage. Prices are more consistant and possibly reflect more research on actual private sale values???
