exboater
Can anyone tell me if a 1993 Talbot Express has an overhead camshaft and whether it is chain driven or has a CAM BELT
tp002c784tp002c784tp
Hi exboater I had a 1988 Talbot Diesel and it was overhead cam and it was a belt driven I think the 1993 would be the same Terry
Geoff Cole
Hi exboater Talbot now part of the sevel group you did not say what engine you have but assuming it is a 2.5 diesel then It will be overhead camshaft belt driven camshaft. I looked it up for you and the part No for the belt kit is £59.98 part no TBKO 15054 I think this kit fits a few models Hope this helps regards Geoff
wints
My daughter has just had a cambelt change on her van (was mine), it's a 1993 Elddis Autoquest 320 with 2.5 turbo diesel engine, aka peugeot J5. Another belt was changed at same time, I think it was the pump belt. All came to £ 215 incl vat and took approx 4 hrs. Taylors Garage Clifton Lancs. Close to the ex Hymer UK on Blackpool Road Preston.
Ranger
That sounds a lot of money, presumably because it is front wheel drive so difficult to get at? My Transit rear wheel drive £85, cam belt, fitting, and VAT.
exboater
Goodmorning everybody who replied to my quest, silly me! I forgot to say that my engine is a 2lt PETROL. would that be different?
exboater
Hi Geoff thanks for that , could you let me know where you looked it up, it could be interesting for other bits. I'm new to computing and still finding my way round the web
davenewellhome
Exboater, as I replied to your posting in chatterbox I didn't bother replying on here. As you have now told us the engine is petrol I can tell you that it is a chain driven camshaft with push rod operated overhead valves. D.
Geoff Cole
Hi exboater, you obviously don't need a cam belt but the site I used is WWW.carparts-direct.co.uk could be helpfull if you need any other bits. regards Geoff
Mickt
I had a 1993 autoquest 2ltr petrol . Am pretty sure it had a chain not a belt.
roverman
Just had a look at my Express manual and the engine is not an overhead cam one but is overhead valve it has a timing chain rather than a cam belt/chain. I could copy the CD the manual is on and send it to you if this would help. It has the manual plus the Cussack service book and handbook on it as I have the 1993 2.0L petrol myself.
