Debs753979
Does anyone know of a detector that does all 3 jobs in 1? I would be grateful for any info on a small unit for our motorhome that would be as inconspicuous as possible. Debs
howie
Hi Debs, and welcome. Go to 'search' at top right of page and type in 'gas attacks' then 'all posts' and submit. Quite a few threads covering this subject and hopefully something there that will help. If not, then either try the main motorhome forum or wait for someone like 'Dave Newell' who will help. Tomo3090
Debs, not to be a smarty pants but it is a CO detector not a Co2 detector. Carbon monoxide is the gas from faulty heaters/fires. Co2 is what you breathe out! You can get little stick on discs that do the job for CO and they cost about a fiver for 3. You can buy a wall mounted CO detector from Wilkinsons or similar shop for about 20 quid. Don't waste your hard earned cash ona "noxious gas detector" it is just an urban myth, but a nice little earner for companies making them!
Debs753979
Thank you for your advice. I have now bought a CO & smoke detector. :-D We previously had a noxious gas detector fitted in our other camper, costing £155 - which never worked properly! I am incredulous that there are companies out there selling these detectors knowing full well that they are not needed.
colin
Only just caught up with this one, as someone whose life was proboly saved by a CO alarm, I would urge anyone using a 'burning' appliance be it gas,oil or coal, BUY AN ALARM
