Khyam Owners - help please!

Hi - i'm looking to buy our first awning and fancy a Khyam.

do you own a coachbuilt and a Khyam Excelsior Motordome awning?

How do you find it - what are the pros and cons?

Is it tall enough for a coachbuilt like a Elddis Autoquest?

Is it bright enough inside like a caravan awning?

Want to get it right especially as they are expensive.

Do you want to sell yours?

Thanks for the help

Yes and Yes - we have an Autoquest 100 with J rail on the side with the caravan door.

Very easy to erect and take down. Unless it is very windy I can erect it and take it down on my own if need be. Even if packed away wet in its bag it is easy to re-erect and dry when we get home.

It's brilliant with a relatively small van like ours to give us extra space when we are on site for several days as we often are at ECWS musters.

I bought some bungee straps to use between the bit that fits to the J rail and the ground to stop it coming loose in high winds - but that's the only con I can think of.

Yes. Window covers can be rolled up to let in more daylight.

They are expensive compared to some others but do you get as much for your money with other makes and are they as easy to handle?

We bought ours after seeing one which friends have - they have since sold their motorhome and bought a caravan but kept the Khyam awning for use with the caravan because they like it so much.

We certainly wouldn't sell ours - much too useful.

I have one and may be willing to sell. It was hardly used with old van and not at all with new one - I sent you a PM a few days ago.....
