libby
Does this mean that all "Camping Vehicles" with the round or triangle roof top devices will have 'No Pictures' (unless they pay for another system)? LB
Tomo3090
I think it's the same as for a domesti set up. If you have freview or satellite then you are OK. But I'm not sure what happens if you just have your "Status" or equivilent ariel, but I suspect you are going to miss "Corrie"!
yeti
Don't panic just buy a Freeview or Top up TV box and connect it between the aerial and the TV and you can receive UK digital channels when in the UK.
MelvynT
It's not the closure of terestrial TV it's that the analogue signal is being switched off, The aerial that you use will be OK, it's the receiver that needs to be changed :-( . If you've recently bought one you should be OK, I use my Laptop for everything, only 70Watts, DVD's CD's Mp3 etc, and a Digital USB television receiver, care of PC world, works fine where I live and behind the beacon at St Agnes Cornwall, just need restting to suit local signal's but it's easy. :-D
panagah
Im interested in this as I use a laptop dongle for my tv whilst away. However I can not get a signal in nearly all areas anymore? is it because I have the status ariel?
libby
Thanks for that The TV monitor is 2 years old otherwise I'll use the new laptop. PS I've no idea who or what Corrie is? LB
davenewellhome
Hi Libby (Bill), to answer your question the "status" type round or triangular roof mounted aerials will noly work for digital TV in strong signal areas. Outside of that a better quality aerial will be required. D.
Keith T
It's also worth bearing in mind that at the present time, the Caravan Club 'booster' system does not seem tosupport Freeview pictures. I think this is something the club are resolving, but it may mean for the time being, you will only be able to receive the standard Channels 1-5 (or even 1-4) on these sites. We find the Freeview is very intermittent at present, even with the latest type of roof aerial, and also -as with Analogue- can even depend on a particular pitch location. Thanks for that Keith, that would answer my wifes question as to why we could not get our dongle working on the club site at Kinlochewe.
