Guest JudgeMental
May be going to southern Brittany for half term Haven't been this way for a while, but normally sat nav takes us via Rouen. This time it is staying north of Rouen on the A 29 and over the "Pont de Normandie" Is this now the quickest route?

Tomo3090
It's the way we went last year and it was fine. There is a handy aire in Carnac and the one at Kerne is well worth a stop for the pancakes and sunsets alone :-D
twooks
depends on your view of going over big bridges - that bear more than a passing resemblance to the big dipper >:-) OH hates it so we use the Rouen option - [and I close my eyes in the tunnel *-) ] B-)
Guest JudgeMental
Way2Go - 2008-05-15 3:39 PMThat looks good to me Judge.E402, E44, E401, E03, N24 and N166Hi, Is this a non motorway route? as I normally stick to toll so from Calais would head south on the A16.... I can see the N! heading south to the left of A16 but not the E402 that you suggest......So do you always try and avoid tolls? As I tend to drive down over night and want to get there ASAP I use them - when I retire I will take the cheaper probably more relaxed scenic routes........ Way2Go
The E402 and A16 is the same road.My understanding of the way roads are named in Europe is that the A16 is the French motorway numbering system whereas the E402 is the Euroroute which travels across Europe. Way2Go
Using the French numbering system it would be:-A16, A28, A29, A13, N814, A84, N24, N166, N165, D768. Total mileage is 412 miles.
