Brexit Minister resigns

These resignations are becoming something of a habit.

Latest in line is Brexit Minister Lord Frost who is "disillusioned with the direction of the Tory government" and quotes "tax hikes" among his reasons.

A senior Government source said Lord Frost's departure had been prompted by the introduction of 'Plan B' Covid measures, including vaccine passports.

But that was just the final straw after months of growing discontent over tax rises and the staggering cost of 'net zero' environmental policies.

Here is the Wail report as Pelmet will understand the headline.

"The resignation of David Frost, Brexit minister, at a moment like this is an abrogation of public duty to the UK - whatever your views. The suspicion is that he could not live with the inevitable compromise bargain with the EU over NI- and is now playing to the Brexit gallery."

Yep, pretty much sums it up.

There are only so many times you can threaten to invoke A16, especially when you know that you can't.

Where is Pelmethead when we all want a good gloat? 8-) ??

Frosts resignation gives Johnson a real dilemma. Appease the ERG by appointing a true believer and run the risk of an economically damaging trade war with the EU, or appoint someone to find a compromise on the Protocol and run the risk of alienating more of his MPs?

So who should be given the poisoned chalice? Leadsom or Gove for the soft option? Or a true Brexiteer nutter like Redwood or Baker?

Personally I think it should be Farage, after all he always has all the answers.

I think the only Johnson acolyte on OAL ran off to hide in a fridge long ago to mourn the downfall of his idol. (lol)

Ironically it's the infiltration of Kippers into the Tory party that's brought it down and according to Pelmets fave read, the Wail, there's more entertainment on the way as Downing Street are said to be in a 'state of panic' over further recordings of Boris Johnson's former spokeswoman Allegra Stratton that include her responses to questions about the Prime Minister's personal life.

The recorded sessions included mock questions aimed at Ms Stratton referring to 'mistresses' and 'love children' of Mr Johnson.

To be brought down by Peppa Pig and lockdown partying is crazy enough......but it seems more is to come!

Stratton has gone to ground just waiting for the incoming sh1tstorm!

Nadine Dorries bum licking Johnson got her kicked off a WhatsApp group during an exchange about the Brexit minister's resignation. (lol)(lol)(lol)(lol)

The pro-Brexiters group know Johnson is toxic waste and they've finally realised he isn't a true Brexiteer.

This is an interesting article on Lord Frost.

Frost admitted no Brexit scenario could be as good as being part of the EU.

“In short, even the best-case outcome can’t be as good as what we have now; and we won’t be able to negotiate the best-case outcome anyway, because in real life you never can,” he wrote in a Portland Communications report entitled ‘Britain Votes Leave: What Happens Next’.

.

“[in the EU] there are no tariffs, no paperwork, and no administrative barriers".

“Britain will be demandeur and so it will be Britain that has to make the concessions to get the deal."
