I'm glad I don't keep my dosh abroad :D ........... You still don't get this do you? There is a difference between investing in foreign companies whilst domiciled here, and being domiciled in Her Majesty's tax havens. Because if you are domiciled here, you have to bring your money in here at some point - when its taxable. If you were domiciled in Her Majesty's Tax Havens, like the £billionaire media owners that fooled you into voting Brexit and avoiding an EU wide tax treaty, you would avoid CGT and tax on the dividends. In any case, Dishy Rishy probably won't increase CGT. Suggesting he will may well be a ruse to get us to pay it before the suggested increase. So he gets the tax receipts in early - to pay off some of the debt he has clocked up by wasting money on useless, overpriced,or even non-existent PPE. Before he is ousted and the new Labour government gets the benefit of the CGT receipts they would have got if he hadn't raked it in early.
John52
You don't seem to realise how much he has wasted either Even the Official papers have to admit 'UK facing risk of 'systemic economic crisis', official paper says' https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2020/nov/24/uk-facing-risk-of-systemic-economic-crisis-official-paper-says But thats another thing that won't worry the Brexiteers in Her Majesty's tax havens. John52
Given their preference for stealth taxes, you will still be paying for this. You might understand their incompetence.
