Tories found guilty of breaking the law again

Remember when we discussed the VIP fast lane for Tory Cronies supplying PPE (most of it useless) and it was poopooed on here as nonsense by the usual suspects? (well just one suspect now).

Well those fantastic people at the Good Law project just won their case. GUILTY! (again).

This should be as big news as Partygate but I suspect it wont be.

Excellent news and a triumph of common sense over evil corruption. Thank God for the tenacity of Jolyon Maugham and the GLP in bringing the criminality of this corrupt government to justice.

"Never again should any Government treat a public health crisis as an opportunity to enrich its associates and donors at public expense."

That ^^ needs engraving in stone over the entrance to the HoC......with Johnsons head on turnpike.

We are living through extraordinary times.

We have a Prime Minister who regards the general public with absolute contempt, and half of them love him for it.

Future historians ( and psychiatrists ? ) will have a field day working out how and why it happened.

Oh its perfectly simple how Johnson got to number ten and why the great unwashed who he has previously and publicly shown his contempt for support him. Brexit. He gave them something they had never had before, "a win". Trouble is its come at an unbelievable price with him as PM and the icing on the cake is Brexit is slowly showing itself to be the absolute crock of sh1t most of knew it would be and it wont be anything else ever with such poor leadership. It and he are both doomed long term and those that backed it and him are slowly waking up to that fact.

Those that opposed both Brexit and Johnson dont need to do anything anymore really. Both are doing a great job of unravelling themselves.

All that only explains why he got support of half the electorate 5 years ago.

It doesn't explain why so many still support him.

....... and once the " in house " investigation is completed - and he is probably found guilty of being a ' bit naughty ' and told to promise he won't do it again, he will simply carry on as he always done.

It's the fact that whatever he does, he is fireproof, that makes these, what I call, " extraordinary times "...

As regards the actual Court Findings, this is surely pretty much an empiric one?

The Judge said that whilst it was unlawful to provide preferential treatment “both companies were likely to have been given contracts anyway”

She also said that “both of the companies offers justified priority treatment” and that due to there “merits” they were “very likely” to have been awarded contracts even without the VIP Lane.

She further stated that the evidence “establishes that the presence on the ‘High Priority Lane’ did not confer any advantages at the decision making stage of the process”.

BUT she said it was clear that “offers that were introduced through the senior referrers received earlier consideration at the outset of the process.

The Judge confirmed that the High Priority Lane team was better resourced and able to respond more quickly to offers but she also found “sufficient financial due diligence” was carried out in respect of both sets of contracts.

Given the panic at the time re PPE ……….?

Blimey. Those were just the two they could make stick. Its been totally obvious from the minute Johnson took over that they are as bent as a nine bob note. The list is endless of the bungs and preferential treatment for Tory chums.

I think for many it does explain exactly why they still support him. It dragged on so long and caused so much division to go against their beloved deliverer of the Sumplit Uplands would be too much of a betrayal for many. They probably live in constant fear of it all been taken away from them and supporting Johnson as sad and desperate as that might seem is their only option. Thankfully it seems all it took was a few parties and laughing in the faces of the "plebs" to turn a fair few of them.

Brexit was and still is at the root of it though Malc and Brexit developed into a cult once Johnson became their Dear Leader. He parroted all the silly soundbites his followers could memorise easily and chant mantra fashion like an army of automatons. Take a look at the actions of American cult leaders Jim Jones or David Koresh as an example.

Johnsons cultists support their Dear Leader because for them he can do no wrong and as Barry said, they live in constant fear of their precious Brexit being taken away from them and Johnson is their last hope, their Great Protector.

The cult is crumbling though as back on planet earth with project reality, Johnson is now facing calls to resign from Tory MP's. He's finished.

A Downing street spokesman has apologised to the Queen over Johnson and his crooks partying at number 10 as the Queen observed the law and the rules.

Asked why No 10 had apologised rather than Johnson himself, his spokesman said: ‘Well the Prime Minister said earlier misjudgments have been made.....".

They haven't grasped the increasing anger in the country. It's not just Johnson who will be going, nobody in their right mind will vote for the ToryKippers.

Trump still has massive support in the USA

So no reason for Johnsons support to decline here.

2024 Trump flags, baseball caps, t-shirts etc are already on sale along with the usual tat which appeals to his acolytes. An American comedian and political commentator speaks to some of them on this YT link. They are so stupid they cannot see he's taking the piss out of them and seriously believe Trump is President.......oh, and they want their country back! *-)

There is a worrying similarity with the Trump wackos and Brexit acolytes.

This is how European countries see the clown in number 10, and what he's done to this country.

European media painted a devastating picture of a “vain, fickle, hypocritical opportunist” with an “elastic relationship to the truth” who only ever “played at being prime minister”.

Germany’s Süddeutsche Zeitung said in a brutal editorial that it had “only ever been a matter of time” before the British prime minister was exposed to one and all as the emperor with no clothes.

“Boris Johnson has never really changed,” the paper said. “He’s always been a seducer and a loudmouth. Always lied when it’s in his interest. He is the great illusionist of British politics.” Johnson’s “remorseful confessions” and “submissive contrition” would do little to change things, the paper said.

He may have “posed as Churchill” and looked like “the saviour of the kingdom” after his election victory in 2019, but unlike his historical hero, “Johnson has himself led Britain into an existential crisis, for which he bears full responsibility.

“He has not given up his frivolous, unserious nature. His fickleness is revealed in his government’s absence of strategy. Snobbery explains his lack of interest in the state of the country. Boris Johnson doesn’t govern, he plays at being prime minister.”

For France’s Le Monde, the last couple of months have proved “calamitous” for a “bumbling politician” whose faults – “opportunism, no attention to detail, an elastic relationship with the truth” – everyone seemed ready to forgive, until now.

The prime minister’s fall in popularity has been “so brutal that his immediate future appears to be in jeopardy”, the paper said, with many Tory MPs “now doubting his ability to lead the party to a fourth consecutive victory” and the rightwing press turning on him.

For Libération, too, “gone are the days of arrogant victories, electoral landslides and spicy slogans. Two and a half years after his election, prime minister Boris Johnson is up against the wall. The party is over – and so are the jokes.”

In the Netherlands, NRC Handelsblad said the scandal was “just one of the many difficult developments Johnson has to contend with”, citing soaring living costs due to “inflation, high energy prices and the negative consequences of Brexit”.

Johnson wont apologise to our Queen because he is not sorry at all.

Good piece here.

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2022/jan/14/conservatives-boris-johnson-leader-election

"Like a dog that could not be sorrier for chewing the sofa, it was a contrite prime minister who prostrated himself before parliament this week. Dogs are never truly sorry, of course. They have learned that if they whimper, hang their heads and look pathetic when caught, they can defuse their owners’ anger. But they don’t actually feel sorry, because dogs don’t think like that. They just want the shouting to stop.........

Boris Johnson isn’t going to change now, because if he did he wouldn’t be Boris Johnson. He’s going to keep running his government much as he once ran the Spectator magazine office – which famously boasted half-empty bottles of wine on all the desks and a ping-pong table in the garden, plus the general air of what one visitor memorably called a “knocking shop” – for as long as anyone lets him, although that may not now be very long. He’s not sorry, or not in the meaningful sense of resolving to change. He just wants the shouting to stop. But that’s not going to happen now."

Yes thats a good article and sums him up well. He's only sorry he got caught out.

It's listening to the many people who were unable to be with loved ones in their final moments as they lay dying alone in a hospital ward bed that I find soul destroying and so sad.

Of course Johnson isn't bothered as he was too busy partying and today more parties have emerged....a “farcical” culture of drinking and impromptu socialising, with little oversight from senior officials. https://tinyurl.com/yk7rfw2c

Neither he or his pondlife acolytes have shown the slightest bit of remorse or empathy for people who lost loved ones. They're beneath contempt.

They simply cannot help themselves. Its in their DNA. They are special in their eyes and its no wonder they think like that when "the plebs" carry on supporting them regardless while they openly laugh in their faces. Brexit has a lot to answer for. What other reason can there be for ordinary working class folk and red wall voters to continue to back a bunch of Etonian toffs that are completely taking the piss out of them? Its like they have been brainwashed. Thankfully some are seeing the light but not all. Its totally Bizarre.

Well it seems the latest bit of brainwashing is his new " slogan " = "Save Big Dog "

They have worked for him in the past and I think it's likely this one will.

His flock love his slogans, and this one makes him out to be a victim.

p.s. If his slogan was " Save Bullingdon Boris " it might not work as well.

Quite a good strategy from Johnsons point of view.

Most people seem to like dogs, so what better title for a bit of sympathy.

He's playing for time. Sue Gray works for him so no doubt HE will decide when the report of the enquiry is published.

In the meantime he will make a list of fall guys - who will agree to take the rap for his bad leadership.

So, my forecast is that Johnson will still be PM at Xmas this year.
