Wish we had stayed in Wuhan

Thats what some of those who have returned to Britain are saying

And asking why Britain didn't quarantine - or even test - people coming in to the country, to take advantage of our being surrounded by water to keep the virus out.

Any answers ?

It's a matter of timing.

If you leave Austrailia at the end of their winter and travel to the UK - you will find that when you get here, winter is just starting.

Same applies to pandemics it seems.

Send them back ... Problem solved

Wouldn't they have to go through quarantine in case the had got the virus in Britain?

Not my problem ... You say they want to go back , wishing they had stayed in Wuhan ... Plane , ticket , bye

No returning Brits were tested or quarantined but obviously they would not have been allowed entry back into China.....assuming they could even get a flight. Returning New Zealanders were tested though and if positive, quarantined. Since China relaxed their lockdown they found the only new cases were among returning Chinese nationals.

of course they weren't tested - our government has been totally incompetent about testing, even now 2 months in, the frontline NHS staff still can't get tested.

They still aren't even getting an efficient supply of PPE either and Patel, who seems to have been in hiding the past few weeks, has emerged to say she's ‘sorry if people feel there have been failings.’

Not to mention the Doctor who died three weeks after writing to Johnson begging him for more PPE as a matter of urgency.

and the nursing staff who due to the shortage of PPE, in desperation turned to using bin bags for protection, three of whom have now tested positive with coronavirus. FGS this is 2020 and UK is *supposedly* the worlds fifth wealthiest country, yet treating its NHS staff like citizens of a poverty ridden third world banana republic. :-(

To make matters worse, what PPE there is, Matt Hancock urged NHS staff not to overuse it! *-)

You can't get plane tickets for a start

anyway thats not the problem.

The problem is BoJo missed the chance to take advantage of our being surrounded by water, testing and quarantining people before the were allowed into the country. He had to catch it himself before he woke up.

You can't get PPE equipment now, except at ridiculously high prices, because back in January and February, all the other countries were securing all the supplies whilst BoJo was asleep at the wheel :-S

Got to say that is a pretty awful thing to say about our PM "He had to catch it himself before he woke up" ... Thats pretty vile and low given he must have been pretty close to death over the last week
