Hello and Ciao,

Clutching a straws here but are there any English speaking Itatian owners of Motorhomes using the chassis from the above range from Fiat, Citroen or Peugeot on this Forum living either in the UK or in Europe?

Regarding the Fiat X244 it would need to be pre-2006ish before the X250 came out.

Old chestnut optional Double Din head-unit housing.

Send me a PM please

Cheers

Salut.

This 2019 forum thread discussed a double-DIN head-unit housing suitable for a X244 Ducato/Boxer/Relay vehicle

https://forums.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Motorhome-Matters/Double-din-radio/52997/

I notice that the housing is advertised here for €160

https://www.xtremewebshop.com/prodotti/fiat-ducato-244-20022006-citroen-jumper-peugeot-boxer-mascherina-doppio-din-lavorazione-artigianale-150175.aspx?a=CookieConsentTrue

I also notice that the 'adaptor' was discussed on this Italian motorhome forum thread

https://forum.camperonline.it/tecnica/accessori/adattatore-2din-fiat-ducato-244/235580

The thread indicates that someone managed (in 2020) to 3D-print sections of the adaptor that could be glued together to form a complete unit that could then be filled and painted. An ebay link was also provided

(I'd be very very careful about purchasing this item nowadays , as comments suggest that even the original version required some work to fit the 2-DIN head unit. If ever there were an item deserving a caveat emptor, it's this.)

There's a design-variation of the 2-DIN adaptor advertised here

The advertiser "G.M.Production" is based in Italy and their 'shop' clearly specialises in this sort of product

It seems to be generally accepted that the original adaptor (the 'real thing') has been unavailable for several years and - if that's correct - the adaptors now being advertised will be copies. Whether they are accurate, good quality copies is difficult to know without actually seeing and fitting them.

Yep, seen that one, it's been on my Watch List. and seen good reviews about it, apart from the price that is.

I was hoping to source an original one.

Fiat 735305823

Citroen 822605 (think this is the same part for the Boxer)

There have been some on ebay I've missed so they do come up every now and then.

Also viewed videos of home made units.

I have contacts in Italy but they are more into classic motorbikes and cars, hense my original post..

Appreciate the help though.
