williams20
I've always relied on my excellent reversing camera on my 2006 Relay van but now, before the next MOT, I have to tackle the fact that the reversing light does not work (I'm not aware it ever has). I assume the switch is on the gearbox and needs replacing, but so far I've not managed to locate it. Any advice please?
Derek Uzzell
Reversing lamps are dealt with in Section 4.6 of the current MOT Manual. You’ll see from the following link that inspection of reversing lamps only applies to "reversing lamps fitted to vehicles first used from 1 September 2009 so, even though your 2006 Relay’s reversing lamp is non-functional, this should not result in an MOT-test failure. https://www.mot-testing.service.gov.uk/documents/manuals/class3457/Section-4-Lamps-reflectors-and-electrical-equipment.html#section_4.6 Regarding the location of the reversing lamp’s switch, this 2017 forum thread may help https://forums.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Motorhome-Matters/reversing-switch/47541/
