  1. Thanks for that Derek. The spring mechanism is common to all of these trims, and takes little account of things like balance weights. The ones I’m struggling with have 9 “lugs” which makes it very difficult to miss potential obstructions. If I were using a conventional keyboard I’d suspect a sticky key; but a touchscreen keyboard with a sticky key? Of course, it could be my ancient iPad mini, but this is the only app that is behaving badly. On the upside it encourages brevity; on the downside that brevity is not very attractive. regards, Albertslad
  2. I realise that the “ cool “ solution would be a set of alloys, but that’s not an option. I think the problem is the “price point” I.e. i’ve gone cheaper than is prudent. I’m not really looking for a trim that is pretending to be an alloy, I just want a tidying up of the wheelnuts. Maybe a Hammerite spray, but too late for current trip. I seem to remember a trim that was held in place by the wheelnuts, have been on a car? Any suggestion or experience welcome. p.s.typing this has been a pain; is there a problem with the app? regards, Albertslad
  3. Heading for Tavistock via Gloucester then home via Weymouth and Portsmouth. Any recommendations for a Lido or two ? ( had a more detailed query typed up but logging in process knobbled that) 😥 regards, Albertslad
  4. Just make sure you document from this point on. And be polite Albertslad
  5. Dangerous assumption I know..... But I assume you have been back to where you bought it, documented your complaints/ issues and reached the end of your tether? It depends how serious your issues are, trivial ones you might as well forget, leave space for the serious ones to be treated seriously. If you can have an independent assessment of cost of resolution, then provide that to your dealer, give a reasonable period for them to get back to you. Then, if not satisfactory the Small Claims Court or equivalent. Warn them, and go for it. Albertslad
  6. Thanks mtravel, you pose an interesting question. looking at Ancona to Igoumenitsa as the route into Greece, and then considering the Calais to Ancona drive, and comparing the attributes of the available sea bathing, I have to admit that repeating the Bilbao toThe Algarve route doesn’t look a very exciting drive. Corfu to Kalamata just might be worth a look, for 2024😏 regards , Albertslad
  7. On May 3rd Taffontour asked about alternative routes to Thessaloniki, and it got me thinking. Motorhoming/ Campervanning has changed for me in the last 12 months. Just not sure I want to commit as much to ”The Route” as “The Destination”. Having ruled out a trip to Norway for that reason I might rule out anything over 3 weeks anywhere. In which case there are probably more economical ways to get some sunshine and adventure. Spain and Portugal can be accessed via Bilbao, leaving enough time to enjoy the destination. As far as I’m aware the time and mileage savings options are not as attractive for Greece. But We’d both like to push the boat out one more time, before we settle for UK and France. regards, Albertslad
  8. Hi Den, what is this “Supa”app? Is there a situation in which wi-fi could be used with the adapter and app? regards
  9. I assume you’ve turned the gas off and removed the regulator before trying to get cylinder out?
  10. Interesting Spirou; before we visited Norway in 2014, we read advice that we should make sure we were not over 6M on any ferry or toll bridge, so we removed the bike rack that was little used. (Edited: You have 30 minutes to edit after posting - Keithl)
  11. Thanks for all of the replies so far. We are going to Sweden whatever else we do. We may investigate a non-driving way to do the Lofoten area from Sweden, and a driving trip to Bergen. Not sure I really fancy the mileage for an all inclusive trip🥴
  12. I think I’ve made my mind up, but I could be swayed. Norway was a short destination in 2014, having visited our daughter in Stockholm, and spent some enjoyable time in Sweden. We went as far as Lillehammer, and I was able to take a trip down the bobsleigh run in a 6-man wheelbob, 1:05.76, amazing. We noted at the time that the coastal route was being developed and thought it might be a reason to return and explore more of the country. So, having got the van back in action with a trip to France last September, I thought We could go back to Norway in “23” It is undeniably a beautiful country, and a trip up to the Lofotan Islands, via Sweden, and back down to Bergen might just be feasible in April or June of this year. We’d also be on the right side of the road to get the best coastal experience. As I do all of the driving it would be a challenge, but I like the idea. Now that there is no direct ferry to Norway, from Newcastle, it is a bit less appealing, although visiting our daughter who has moved to Gothenburg, still requires that we drive a considerable distance before we get started on any trip to Scandinavia. Thinking back to our last trip, which was 13 days, I have to admit that the social scene in Norway was rather limited. It’s not that we are big drinkers, but eating and drinking out were pretty limited, and the cost of living was just very expensive then , so probably painfully so now. Also, I suppose that the opportunities to get away from fellow tourists on the chosen route would be limited, that’s what we all go for. Some of you may have recent experience to offer, or ways to make the costs more bearable? Have I missed something? Or do we concentrate on France and Spain for a few years?
