  1. Phoned Alde. They said there’s a problem with the LCD panel. They gave me a returns code and told me where to send it to. They said they’d have it back to me in 3 days. That’s unbelievable customer service. Wish other companies were as good. Well done Alde!
  2. Many thanks. Yes I've disconnected the panel and checked the pcb and it all looks good, including the fuses. I've also left it on it's front to destress the touch panel. I'll give Alde a ring tomorrow and see what they say. A new panel isn't cheap.
  3. All the icons on my Alde control panel have suddenly stopped working if you tap them. The only way I can get them to change is to slide across them at an angle and then sometimes they work. Other than that the system’s all working fine. The van is only 7 years old and not used a lot. I’ve removed the panel and put it in the airing cupboard for a few days in case of moisture. But no luck. Anybody any idea what’s happened. Steve
  4. The Fiat part at Coastal is an incredible price. My local Fiat dealer quoted me £424!!!
  5. Thanks. My indicator light is fine the thing broken is the lower blind spot mirror. Decisions, decisions!
  6. Thanks, after reading Derek's reply I'm reluctant to buy an after market version for £64, even though it's a quarter of the price of a Fiat part. Having said that, it's the second time I've had that wing mirror knocked, the first time with no damage other than a dent. It's a lot of money just have it smashed off the next day by white van man. Lol.If your after market version worked, can you remember the exact one you bought and from where?
  7. Thanks Derek, I don't relish the idea of sending for 4 wing mirrors before getting one that works.
  8. Thanks. £64 is not too bad. I’m guessing mine is long arm as the coach built body splays out behind it. Put a pair of protectors on there and they should match. I’ll watch a couple of fitting videos before making a decision. The furniture van didn’t stop and he was over the white line too 😫
  9. If the contact cleaner doesn’t work I’ll order a few of these. The tactile switch looks like. 6mm x 6mm x 10mm high. Have to work on my soldering iron skills. 😂
  10. Good idea! What plastic is actually there is wafer thin though, so there’s not much to bond to, even if you used extra plastic as a filler. I might give your suggestion a try though.
  11. Thanks for posting. Amazing video, very clever repair. Sadly, mine have broken off without much plastic attached to be able to weld it back. But It’s got me thinking of other ideas. Much appreciated.
  12. I’ve now managed to take the whole switch assembly apart and they’re not membrane switches, but tactile push switches on a PCB covered in a layer of plastic. One of the switches has just stop working when you push it. May have to contact Knaus to get the make and serial number of the exact switch in order to get a replacement, and then brush up on my soldering.
  13. Thanks. That’s what concerns me the round part that the new mirror would clip onto, is loose and I would have thought it should be connected to the main housing. It looks like it’s broken off but there’s no obvious signs of where it was attached previously. Of course there maybe another part that’s come away with the mirror.
