    Ok solved it. The fan kicking in is a red herring. For anyone else who experiences this I found there was excess build-up of carbon on the burner preventing the thermocouple staying hot enough to keep it alight. Cleaned that up and it solved the problem.

    The oven lights normally and stays alight until the fan starts up. The thermocouple then cools and the flame goes out. Any suggestions gratefully received.
