  1. Hi

Re trace your steps on what you carried out, re the batteries . Maybe disconnect and re try with one battery and with  correct amperage fuse as was fitted originally  Always find the source of your problem and never just uprate your fuse to a higher amperage. You may have a fire on your hands otherwise . You have been given good advise by all here .If your not competent with DC wiring , get a good Auto electrician to check it out for you and be safe

  2. Hi "adesteele",

Let us know how you got on , discount nothing as the simple faults can cause issues and have to be rectified. If you do not know how to perform the tasks I have outlined (I have no idea of your competence), then get a good auto electrician or tech to do it for you .

Let us know of your outcome

    Hope this helps

    Regards

  3. Hi

Yes the earth lead should be replaced if in any doubt and all fuses for good contact ,but it may not always the case in this instance of intermittent starting

You need to check is under the fuse box. There is a blue connector that is a well known cause .  This needs to be examined carefully for any corrosion in the contacts needs to be dealt with sometimes with a new connector.

You also need to check the wiring for the low pressure pump. It needs to be checked for damaged and repaired

The fuel pump should  run for about 20 seconds after the key is turned on , if the engine does not started; it switches off.

Check the wires in the bundle under the N/S headlamp for damage and repair if necessary

Last check is the ECU /Body computer wiring loom. Check this wiring for continuity, quite often a wire breaks here and disrupts signal to the ECU from the body computer under the dash.  It may cause an immoblisier fault

    Hope this helps

    Regards

  4. Hi again

Just got chatting a member down here in the south of Spain on tour who had one in his previous motorhome Just like both yourself and Derek he had very little joy ascertaining the required information on fault codes but rememberers that he found an faulty connection on his relay from the engine battery and had to also replace the wiring from same to the panel Some of our other members are in south of Portugal and may have the installation leaflet you requested We will be in contact over the weekend I am still a little taken aback that the company supply such little information on their product

  5. Hi "Dawki"

It 's a serious issue to consider on purchasing one with a wet belt as you say the the amount of money that has to be spent on the service of same and maybe the loss also of re-sale value going forward,

don't know about that, but to be sure, if I had got a wet cambelt I personally would make sure I got the right oil to go with it, rather than rely on a garage to use the right oil.

  7. Hi

I am afraid they do fail regardless of the oil used as it becomes diluted and contaminated with soot, ( regular oil changes are not the norm anymore ) This is well known and Ford have issued a Technical Service Bulletin . The saga goes on and on . At the moment it wouldn't be my choice of motor

  9. Hi

You could try gentle heat and dry it out over a period of time (it may take a few goes example with a hairdryer ) then find were the water is getting in and seal same, sometimes this can be difficult and not long lasting as some reversing cameras have sealing issues

Maybe the best advice is to replace the camera itself ,

  10. Hi

As Keithl mentions above you really should not need one within the EU if your insurance covers you for such travel. In case of an accident it still is good to have one as proof of travel cover in case of an accident when abroad. . https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-insurance/driving-abroad

Are you sure the truck driver is fully insured? . Your insurance should have no problem printing you out a green card or indeed e mailing one for you to print out and send it o to the relevant authorities that may be requesting same Yes a green card is good to have if you are involved ij an accident and is easily  provided by your insurer,  once your insurance is valid for travel abroad within the E.U  Why not ask  AXA to send you on one ? and to the relevant authorities dealing with the case your full insurance documentation that you are covered to drive abroad at the time of the said accident .

    Regards
