Patricia
Well spotted Dave - it should have an "e" on the end so I will withdraw it and offer "crouch" instead. Sorreee!
michele
Patricia - 2008-07-03 9:08 PM Thanks for the support Janine. Just found lots of references to that spelling on the internet: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/croupe http://onlinedictionary.datasegment.com/word/croupe as well as in Chambers. Right thats money wasted on her edumacation I will shoot her then either that or the horse I'll now offer "crosse". :D :D :D
Patricia
This post seems to have taken a long time to come through. Anyway please don't shoot her or the horse Michele - she is quite correct too. Remember there are often more ways than one to spell the same word e.g. sympathise or sympathize. In that case I think it is the American influence but in some cases the ancient spelling lingers. Are you going to have a go at the new word now?
