davenewellhome Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 We'll be away too in a fortnight :-D . Next weekend of course we've got the Malvern show then the following Firday we leave for a two week trip. Going down to a vineyard and micro brewery near Henley on Thames first then over to Harwich for the ferry to Hook of Holland on Sunday (midnight sailing). Bimble across Southern Holland over four days arriving at Dusseldorf on Thursday PM. Weekend at the show and return the following week. D.
ohgrandma Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Michele, Hope you have a really great time, with no problems, Take care, Ria.
Randonneur Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Michele, If you are going to oradour make sure you arrive on the Aire no later than about 2pm. We were there last week and it was packed when we arrived at 4pm, we stayed until 6.30pm the following day because we were going to Limoges Airport to pick Son and Grandson up. All the bays will fit 2 vans in but there was an UK registered Tag Axle Autocruise came in the morning and took up the whole of the bay when he put his awning, tables and chairs out and treated it like a campsite, so no one else could park at the side of him. If there is no room, there is another Aire at the back of the Tourist Office which is smaller, with water and toilet facilities and nearer to the Memorial Centre. There is also a very large car park just after the Centre, there were motorhomes parked on there as well but it is very sloping. We decided that the next time we go we will stay at the back of the Tourist Centre as it is adjacent to the shops and there is a Supermarket a few hundred yards past it. Have a great Holiday and I hope everything goes well. You know where we are if you want to call or need anything. Sylvia and Martin
ROON Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Hope you all have a good one... Michele and Dave and families.
