WE'RE HOME!!!!!!

Yes I'm sh17faced and this is taking an inordinate amount of time to trype but we had a great time. Sadly out of the first ten pus we tried to visit six were not open. I ask you, on what should be the busiest day of their year who can afford to keep their doors closed?

To anyone who tried to get some work done at Palacia Newell this afternoon.....would you believe that on possibly the busiest day of the year the buggers had shut up shop?

Some lame excuse about having worked his bollox off all year, and was gonna get p*ssed instead this afternoon............oh, and summat about trype too.

Disgraceful. :D

Er ... Dave ... I think it's about time you changed your answer phone message from yesterday! (lol)

I've just rung your workshop and heard this!!!

Excuse me if I don’t take your call

But I’m off out today for a trawl

It’s an annual event

I’d say ‘Heaven sent’!

It’s the “Newell clan Christmas pub crawl”!

With friends plus daughters and son

I’m off for some seasonal fun

Round Telford we’ll tear

For our traditional affair

It’s just something that has to be done!

We’ll start at the ‘Six Bells’ in Madeley

Then inside ‘The Pheasant’ we’ll be

‘All Nations’ is next

And if no ill effects

A walk down the gorge to ‘The Brewery’

For literature and some wonderful beer

We’ll stagger on to ‘The Shakespeare’

Then ‘The Boat’ we will sail

To the ‘Half Moon’ we’ll hail

Happy and full of good cheer!

As ‘Black Swan’ becomes ‘Mucky Duck’

With ‘Robin Hood’ we’ll then try our luck!

Grasping ‘Bird in Hand’

We will try to still stand

So the ‘Officer’ won’t us all have to ‘book’!

Casually trying to walk on our way

To the ‘Tontine Hotel’ we will sway

Scaling the ridge to the ‘Station’

To suffer yet more libation

The crawl won’t be over - no way!

At ‘White Hart’ we will still have some fight

As the marathon’s end looms in sight

So ‘Malt House’ then ‘The Swan’

With pints swiftly gone

Before ‘White Horse’ - the last for the night!

But worst part of crawl, must be said,

Will be the one back home to my bed

I’ll enjoy the whole day

But oh heck will I pay

As I’ll wake hung-over … oh my head!!!!!

:D

Mel that is absolutely brilliant, thank you ;-) .

The truth of it was more like this though:

Six bells--not open:-(

Pheasant--not open :-(

All nations--open, two pints and very pleasant :D

Brewery--open two pints and food, two large slices ham, chips and salad for £3, yes that's three quid and it was a big plateful :D :D

Shakespeare--not open :-(

Boat inn--not open :-(

Half moon inn--not open :-(

Mucky duck--open but wrong side of the river :-S

Robin Hood--open, one pint :D

Bird in Hand-- not open :-(

Tontine--open, one pint but possibly the dirtiest pub I've been in :-S

White Hart--not open :-(

Malt house--open one pint :D

Swan-- open, one pint :D

White Horse, Lincoln hill--open, many more pints :D :D

21.00 hours Jackie collected us and took us home :D

Sorry to disappoint you all but no smacked a r s es or faces like, workshop door was open at 08.05, no throwing up of anything thank you. The only after effect was I felt rather tired but I blame that on the horrible cold I've been suffering from :D .

No 1 son did somewhat different as he left us at the White oss ( :D ) and went off to join his mates on their p155up. He arrived home about 02.30 am Saturday very much the worse for wear, in fact he was still in a mess when I got up at 06.00.
