Guest martin
Does anyone know of a good place to stay near the tube/train for London? CLs or places nearer than the two club sites? Is the Lea Valley any good?
Guest Bill
There is a CL at Worplesden, just outside Woking, from which there is a very good service to Waterloo. The CL is pretty good, but has only one combined loo/shower, so be prepared to use your own facilities.
Guest bob
We have stayed at the Lee Valley leisure centre site a few times. They are knocking the old leisure centre buildings down at the moment and replacing the running track etc. And the pitza place appears to have closed but for a base to travel into the city from it's good. A bus runs from the site every 15 mins or so and you can buy all day travel tickets from reception. The site facilities are first class with no complaints from us. Give them a try. Guest Keith T
You can't get much better than Abbey Wood Caravan CLub site, I think....30 mins to Central London, and trains around evry 10-15mins, usually to Charing X, waterloo, or London Bridge, and some to cannon St. Exc site, few mins walk, and 'off peak' Travel card 1 day was around 5.40, I think a few weeks ago, no doubt will go up this week. Go there a couple of times a year, but can get v busy, and adv bkg recom.
Guest Neal
Martin We've used the Crystal Palace CC site and found it fine. Buy LT tickets at the office and off you go! Get the bus 2 minutes from the gate straight into Picadilly Circus; no worries and no bus changes. Buses run during the night too (we came back at 02:30 am!)
