Bazza454
Brilliant site, within easy walking distance of Hawes which has a good selection of shops, restaurants and a fabulous fish and chip shop. Visit the Wensleydale cheese factory, it's at the opposite side of the town from the CC site.Great countryside with plenty of walking and cycling opportunities direct from the site. spospe
Agreed, it is an excellent site. TV reception using our own aerial was not brilliant, but there is a site booster. Lots of easy walks from the site and in the area. The Wensleydale cheese factory has a restaurant which serves excellent cheese dishes at low cost (or it was at low cost last time we were there!). There is a cheese shop at the factory and you can taste before you buy.

Klyne
Would echo all the comments, its a lovely site and excellent location. Just one thing to watch if you are approaching from the east on the A684. Just take care as you approach the right turn to the site as you enter the town as it can be a bit confusing-well at least I did!!!! David
Paul-
Same as everyone else has said, nice site but keep away from the cowsheds at the bottom.......they get up very early....& they are not very quiet *-)
Ina
Butty - 2008-12-24 1:26 PM Has anyone stopped at the Brown Moor cc site near Hawes if so can u let me know what it is like we are going on Saturday 27th December. Thanks A bit late, but we've just come back earlier today, unfortunately left before you posted this on Xmas Eve, in the morning. Wonder what van you have, as you'd have been there when we were there (for 1 day). We use the site quite a bit as we love walking, the weather was fantastic this time, and we walked quite a distance each day, had a great time. Comment re: cowsheds - quite correct, and it's not just the cows that are noisy very early, being a farm, the machinery too gets quite noisy early on, but hey, that's the countryside for you :-)
