Rocles
Our Reversing camera Monitor seems to have packed up. It just flashes a white screen occasionally, and thin vertical coloured lines. Checked connections, all seem, ok. Is this 9 pin connector a standard, ie, can I just get another monitor and plug it in? See pic at - http://home.clara.net/norden/images/DSC00185a.jpg thanks, Les
Brian Kirby
I'm not sure your assumption is safe. I'd get the monitor tested before you write it off, because it could, equally, be the camera that has gone. After all, the camera is the external element, and it has been very cold and wet. Whichever is duff, can you not just replace like with like, and so sidestep any compatibility problems?
davenewellhome
While the plug is a standardised item its wiring connections are not so no you won't be able to use a different monitor unless it is from the same manufacturer and wired the same way. I agree with brian, check the monitor first, if it has an AV input or second camera input connect a video signal to it (video camera or DVD player for example) if you still get no picture then it is almost certainly the monitor. Rocles
Thanks Brian and Dave. I am taking the van for a bike rack fitting tomorrow, so will ask them to test the monitor. It doesn't have a straightforward Phono input for Video anywhere easily accessible, otherwise I'd test it myself.
