mikemelawrence.plus
Can anybody advise me if a fairly new VW Transporter camper van conversion with the 1.9 TDI 84ps engine would be capable of towing a modern two berth caravan?

duffers
I've seen T4's towing all sorts of things, but isn't there a tried and tested formula somewhere, you need to check vehicle specs as to what weight the vehicle can tow and then look at the weight of the caravan you're interested in
onecal
Hi, Yes with no problem provided the caravan is in good condition. Regards, Brendan
Ranger
Check the "train weight" on the 'Weight plate' and work it out from there. Front wheel drive may cause a slight traction problem, but if you realise that it can mostly be avoided.
fred22
Go on to the Towsure website and put your details into the Outfit Matcher. It will tell you if you have a good match and what performance you can expect
