Guest Jim
We are travelling in europe for 6 months from April, first time motorhomers. Not planning on carrying lots cash around, are there plenty ATM,s or do we have to travel to more populated towns to get cash. Our bank offering us low monthly deal to obtain free withdrawals, trying to weigh up pros and cons as not all ATM,s are free. Also thinking of buying camping cheques. Any advice appreciated. Guest Derek Uzzell
Can't comment on overall ATM coverage in Europe - certainly there are plenty in France, Germany, etc. If you visit a small village in the UK you wouldn't expect to find an ATM and the same will be true abroad. Unless you open a Euro bank account, I believe the only UK banking organisation currently offering genuinely fee/interest-free cash withdrawals from European ATMs is Nationwide via the debit card linked to its FlexAccount. (Search forum on "nationwide" for more details.) Searching on "camping cheque" will also retrieve earlier discussion on this subject.
Guest pete walker
hi jim, i use nationwide flex account in atm's abroad and it works out a lot cheaper, plenty of atm's in mainland europe, you press the english button so no confusion, not come across any fee paying machines, but should imagine they do exsist. pete
