njw
i have just bought a trigano tribute 0n a fiat 2003 and when you lock and open the van it locks all 4 doors but the indicators do not flash ,is it a easy job to connect the indicators to the central locking so that they flash . davenewellhome
Not particularly. Do you have remote locking or is it only via the key in the lock? D.
graham
Our 04 Peugeot didn't flash either on the fob or the key lock. I queried it with the Peugeot van dealer on the first service to be told that on my model they didn't (if you follow me). So what you have got may be correct. Brambles
Do you have an alarm system fitted? Normally the indicators flash to show the alarm system is working and armed. Alarm modules often have programable settings to enable or disable this feature.
njw
i do have remote locking but was hoping that the lights would flash only to help making sure it will be locked when i was not right next to the vehicle, and i do not have a alarm fitted thanks for your comments
davenewellhome
Some vehicles with remote locking, both of our Ford Focuses (Foci?) flash the indicators if you press the lock button twice. The first push locks it and the second deadlocks it and flashes the indicators twice. Not sure if Fiat use a similar system but it could be worth a try. D. tonyishuk
Our 2003 Fiat jtd does not flash when locked. The afterfit alarm (Vanbitz) does flash the lights when activated. Rgds
Brambles
It actually should not be too difficult to fit a relay to power the lights when the locks activate. I shall look at circuit diagrams later and see if I can work it out where it could be fitted in the lock wiring. A couple of diodes will also be needed, or two relays...and some fuses. No promises of success but will take a look.
Brambles
njw, How competant are you with a voltmeter and finding your way around wiring to locate modules and connectors under the dash. Also installing a relay circuit. I think it can be done, but does need a test made with a voltmeter to see if a couple of control lines stay live or not and for how long. Dave was right, it is complicated.
davenewellhome
Its probably as easy and not much difference in cost to fit a basic alarm that flashes the indicators and operates the central locking. D.
