Yours is the type of question that would need a lot of effort (and words) to provide a deserving answer - fortunately, John Wickersham has already done this in his excellent publication "The Motorcaravan Manual" (Haynes Publishing). John's book includes a chapter on motorcaravan design that includes advice on the pros and cons of fixed roof, rising roof, high top, dismountable, coachbuilt, A-class and RV motorhomes. Highly recommended for any motorcaravanner new to the pastime and as a handy reference manual for experienced 'motorhomers' too.

Thanks for recommending the book.

A very informative book that we've read from cover to cover.

Now I'm fairly certain of the type and size of Motorhome we will, hopefully, be buying later in the year.

We intend hiring a Motorhome in a couple of months time, have a few days touring the UK and if we're happy with our holiday then it's off to rob a bank. (not literally!)
