Help with finding check plug on Motorhome.

Can anybody help me find the check plug on transmission for a 2002/03 fiat 2.8 engine in Hymer 524 Coachbuilt.

 

Unable to find, only place i can see to fill is speedo drive.

I think the filler/check plug is on the differential casing part of the gear box.

Looked all over apart from round Diff. Had earlier model an was on side of box. Ill have a look.

I have just checked the official Fia manual and there is a contradiction.

For checking oil level it says remove the check plug on differential casing.

 

 

However when reading the secition on changing the oil, it says remove the drain plug on underside of differential casing and drain..etc.

Refill using the vapour breather opening as there is no opening for checking the level.

 

I will hazard a guess and say earlier (pre 2002) have a check plug but later ones do not. To refill it says stick to the recommended quantities of oil which is 2 litres for the 2.8 jtd.

 

Unless you have an oil leak your level should be fine.
