Alde Heating

The system is spot on, just like radiators or in some models floor warming at home. You need to be aware of radiator options on some budget models which offer Alde heating as an option. Most vans with Alde have the heating tubes / radiators secreted behind furniture and natural convection takes care of the rest. It works very well in our current van. 2010 models of our van have the heating tubes incorporated into the upper floor sandwich so has floor warming. This allows for a wider inside layout.

Would we specify Alde in the future. Most certainly.

The only two slight downsides of Alde heating that I can see is the time taken to warm a large motorhome and the extra weight of the system due to it being filled with relatively heavy liquid, not usually a problem on sa big motorhome though. I have fitted a Webast diesel fired heater to a Dethleffs tag axle motorhome which already had Alde "wet" central heating simply for speed of warm up. Once up to temp he switches the Webasto off and lets the Alde system take care of keeping it comfortable.
