Wildge
We are heading for this area on1st May... hopefully before it gets too hot? Could anyone provide info. on the area from Perpignan over towards the Camargue . eg routes using mainly aires, pre planning (we have heard about the mozzies ) and any tips on the 'best bits' not to miss. We expect to be in this area about 3/4 weeks and hope to return in July(so will have a lovely long and leisurely meander back up) Any advice gratefully received......... especially big and busy places to avoid and a campsite for the all important laundry. Thankyou

tonyg3nwl
Hi, We have visited a site at Agde almost annually for the last 10 Years, using Camping Cheques. The site is Camping Champs Blancs at Agde. 800 metres from a Hyper and individual wash cabins with shower on each pitch with excesses of scalding hot water so no need to use your own gas.Electric hookups of course, and superb swimming pool complex (Heated) Level countryside in the area for cycling, 2 mile from sandy beach, and a little further to the marina and tourist traps if you want them The site is family run and can be found on Internet , just google for Camping Champs Blancs. It gets very busy at end of June/early July, so depart before last weekend in June. Access via Millau Bridge and free motorway from Clermont Ferrand south, (toll payable on bridge unfortunately), but toll can be avoided by leaving motorway and dropping down into Millau, Then climbing back up the other side.. scenery from Clermont south is good. Canal du Midi passes through old Agde and cycling on towpath is possible Avoid the site like the plague after first week in july tonyg3nwl ps laundry machines available at small charges
Klyne
We stayed here last September which is also in Adge http://www.davidklyne.co.uk/camping_le_neptune.htm It does take Camping Cheques. There is a cycle way along the river to the beach or in the other direction to the old town of Adge. Its a fairly small campsite with about 100 touring pitches.
