mad mac
Hi, everyone. I am heading up to Scotland soon and plan to overnight at the car park before Lindesfarne. Does anyone know if this is still possible, or have the dreaded hieght-barriers sprung up?
Mel B
Hi Mac Suggest you repost this on the motorhome matters part of the forum as you'll get more responses.
mad mac
Thanks, Mel. I am getting good at posting things in the wrong places. Thinking about it though, lorries must have to park there when the tide is in,so there shouldn't be a problem.
Mel B
Hi again ... do you mean parking ON the island of Lindesfarne in the large car park before the village? :-S
Syd
I have seen motorhomes parked up on the left where the warning signs are just before you begin to cross over the causeway
Mel B
Hi Syd We 'stranded' ourselves on the island in the big carpark there a few years ago and stopped the night (we did have a valid parking ticket) and it was lovely - we watched the sunset with the locals on the beach and chatted, no problem at all. Obviously we haven't been for a few years now so someone who's been more recently would be able to advise if there are any chances.
mad mac
Just got back, and I did mean before the causeway. Got there at about 11.30 P.M and didn't see another soul until about 7.30 when we left. Very peaceful, but freezing cold.
