fred22
I have always had vans where, when you turn on the tap, the pump starts up and water appears, turn the tap off the pump stops. I have just purchased an early Auto Sleeper and this is fitted with a Shurflo Series 200 pump. Am I right in thinking that this system works slightly differently in that the pump pressurises the system and holds it under pressure until you draw water, after which the pump builds the pressure back up again, and that this can result in the pump continuing to run for a short while after the taps are switched off.? Guest Tracker
Basically yes! The pump may also 'click' from time to time to maintain pressure due to a very slight leakage of the non return valve. This is nothing to worry about just as long as you are sure that there are no leake twixt pump and tap and a visual check of the hoses and joints using a tissue will easily confirm this. colin weston
One additional comment. It's always wise to switch off your pump when you leave your van. Just in case. I always switch mine off at night as well otherwise it occasionally give the odd clatter during the night.
