leaking drain water tank

We filled our 2005 autosleeper Symbol with water for the first time after a very cold winter (we live in bonny Scotland). We had drained the system but where the drain is attached to the water tank is now leaking! Has anyone had this problem and how to remedy it? I am not sure whether to try and remove the drain and reseal then refit it or if the whole tank needs to be taken off to get to the other side of the fixing. Any help welcomed. Ta Lawrence

Depends how it is fitted? The outlet might screw directly into the tank if the tank is thick enough or the internal securing nut for the outlet might be butted up against the bottom of the tank in which case if you disconnect the hose and try and tighten the outlet connector gently you might - or might not - have some success.

You might be able to undo it slightly and squeeze some sealant behind the flange and then retighten but not too tight? Has been known to work - sometimes!

Failing that drop the tank and get access via the cover in the top of it.

Unfortunately it's a messy and wet job as even when allegedly empty the tank will still have some water in it that tends to run out of the various disconnected orifii unless you plug them with rag or summat first!
