Stuart
We're sailing from Portsmouth am Feb 9th and need a decent place for the night. Would prefer somehwere fairly quiet and handy for a pub meal in the evening. We need a good size pitch, 7m + trailer. All the club sites seem to be closed until March. Any info would be appreciated. Mike88
Stay at the port alongside the fence. Enter the port as if you were catching the ferry and keep to the left. Many stay overnight here. Alternatively after the last ferry for the night has left you can park in the departure lanes.
Stuart
Mike88, Thanks for that, useful to know. Was hoping to find somewhere a bit quieter. Stuart
chas
Check out the Southsea camping site just along the promanade from the ferry port, not cheap but ideal for the docks. Happy holiday
Sophie
Try Port Solent by the Marina here http://www.premiermarinas.com/pages/portsolent_marina Massive car park close to pubs and restaurants. Cinema too if yor want it. Should be quiet in February. Stayed there a couple of times. Park attendants around & they don't bother you.
Stuart
I have spoken to the Southsea site , although they ignored an email, looks like we'll go there. I have not been able to find them in either of the Club books but all the info is on the webpages. Thank you to all who replied. Stuart
LordThornber
We've overnighted at The Ship Inn, Langstone Rd, Havant, it's about 10 mins away from the Port. Good food and drink, plenty of room on the car park with no problems at all. Martyn
le canichot depang
We normally stay at the Port and it can be a bit noisy, have also stayed at Southsea and they charged £10 to stay on the short stay pitch at the entrance, including electric, which was convenient if you want an early start before the barrier is unlocked. We also ate in the pub/restaurant on site and it was decent enough food and reasonable.
