Keith B
Can anyone tell me what the best lubricant is to ease sticking window blinds? Keith
BGD
I use WD40.........use the little pipe attachment thingy to direct the jet right down into the corners of the window cassette where the blind roller mechanism is, and also up inside the guides that run up each side of the window. Works well for us...........
bazooka
Hi Keith B,i use silicon spray from Lidels it works! Baz :-D
Mike B.
Believe it or not the easiest and cheapest way to stop them sticking is to spray some Pledge or other furniture polish on the guides and slide them up and down a couple of times. No smelly lubricant and it comes out of the housekeeping not your wallet!! :-D Mike
Guest peter
I agree with Mike. WD 40 stinks and will stain anything that will absorb it.
bob b
I also used a silicone spray with good results. WD40 will stain and it also evaporates eventually anyway. I meant to add that I now leave my blinds down when the motorhome is not being used. Apparently it weakens the springs if they are left 'drawn'. This is probably why we need the silicone spray in the first place.
How Much
We also leave the blinds down. Im well aware of the spring thing, but its a trade-off between slightly weaker springs, and the sun fading everything inside. Its easier to reload the springs, if it ever came to it. THE SHEPHERD
Auto Sleeper Sussex (53) ,but we have had the problem on Polensa, at the moment we travel with the blinds halfway up which helps but is not good for the springs. I did try dismantling the spring cassing as the hand book says its easy, THEY ARE JOKING. TS
