Camping Playa las Dunas, El Puerto de Santa Maria.  Town easy walking distance, and worth a day or so,  Nice little passenger ferry from El Puerto across bay to Cadiz, which is worth several days.  Beach out front.  San facs etc fine when visited (autumn 2005): GPS N36.58739 W6.24060.

Shady area under trees pleasant, but great care needed between/under trees and around low walls.  Inspect before siting, will challenge vans over 6.5 metres in all bar a few pitches, up to about 6.0 metres generally OK with care.  Alternative area easier access but more open, tends to be favoured by motorhomers - 'cos they mostly can't get into the shady bit.  :-D

We loved this site when we first visited (2003) but found it to be poorly maintained and expensive on our next visit (2008) but it was winter and a very wet one at that.

However the location is fantastic for touring and you can get to Cadiz easily on the boat (not always working though so check if it is) or train.

El puerto de santa Maria is a lovely town and worthy of a few days exploration (very good food).

You could happily combine a trip here with one in Seville for a few days (good campsite at Dos Hermanos). Also we would recommend the campsite at Ronda and a few days in that area.

We stayed at Playa Las Dunas last year & would definitely go back & Don Hermanos, went in on the bus to Sevilla.

We are interested in Murcia but haven't stayed in that area yet in the motor home. Am pretty sure the following came from this forum ( book mark so many things ) looks interesting. www.camperparkhuertademurcia.es

Suggestion -

Get this years ACSI discount card and accompanying book which details all the sites across Europe that take the card.........there are a lot in Spain now (as well as loads and loads in France), and it'll save you a chunk of money if you use them.

Search this site or Google for ACSI............

We are at the moment at Camping Torre Del Mar. We come here every year because it is just a couple of minutes outside of the main shopping area. The site itself is not much to write home about, being very Spanish but is friendly. Torre Del Mar gives you a view of Spanish life and it is interesting to see whole families (from grandparents to grandchildren) out walking along the esplanade every Sunday afternoon. The esplanade itself extends to the next village (Calleta) and provides an exellent stretch for either walking or cycling. Buses are frequent to Malaga (to the west) or Nerja (east)

In response to your second request, we are in Guardamar del Segura, East of Murcia, on an ACSI registered site which I can highly recommend. Pitches are fully serviced and price includes free swim, gym and wifi. Try www.campingmarjal.com for more info.

If you are here in April you might want to see the Moors and Christians festival on the 22, 23 and 24 April. www.alcoyturismo.com should tell you more.
