Road closures in Argyll August 2011

I have read in the Oban Times our local newspaper that TranServ are going to be closing sections of the A85 between St Conan's Kirk Loch Awe between 7pm and 6am for resurfacing work.

This is scheduled to start from August 21st for 4 weeks.

Anyone planning to travel to Oban will have long diversions. There is an excellent wild camping spot in Lochawe village by the railway station opposite the Tight Line pub just before the roadworks.

There is also to be resurfacing work with a convoy system just outside Oban for 2 weeks from July 25th. Anyone planning to catch a ferry from Oban would be best to allow extra time for their yourney.
